Tim Baxter

Owner/On Air Personality

Tim has been in broadcasting for more than 50 years, starting in radio in Miami, FL, at the age of 16, and was program director for WQAM in Miami before moving to Boone, NC, to be station manager at the local radio station, WATA.

In the 1990’s, he had a vision of what the community needed and was lacking at that time. He brought the first television station to the Boone area, known as MTN, the Mountain Television Network. With his leadership and direction, MTN was profitable from day one. Tim and his wife Janice own and operate a marketing company, Baxter Marketing, Inc., that handles advertising for healthcare providers in the Carolinas and Alaska. For several years, they produced and hosted a weekly half hour television show airing statewide across Alaska promoting doctors and providers. Tim is excited to be bringing TV 5 to North Myrtle Beach. You’ll see him “on the air” and he will be working with our advertisers helping them get their message out to our viewers!

Janice Baxter

Owner/Executive Producer

Janice has extensive broadcast experience, producing, editing and directing numerous live TV shows on the Mountain Television Network in Northwestern NC. She also shot, produced, and directed Alaska Health & Fitness Magazine with her husband Tim as host. It was a weekly half hour television show that aired across the state on the ABC and Fox channels, introducing Alaskans to doctors and healthcare providers. Janice has already been shooting parades and events around North Myrtle Beach and turning them into our local “Fun Breaks”. She is excited to be bringing North Myrtle Beach the new TV 5 channels. Be sure to stop and say hi when you see her out and about!

Dean and Gene Norman

Broadcast Engineers/Partners

Meet Dean Norman (left) and Gene Norman, our TV 5 partners and broadcast engineers! Besides being technical wizards, they are no strangers to television broadcasting! The Norman brothers owned and operated WTBL television in Lenoir, NC, for years and were also an important part of the Mountain Television Network. They now handle the technical side of TV 5 and love spending as much time as possible in North Myrtle Beach.

Charlene Proctor

Fun Breaks Personality

After 29 years in western NC, Charlene moved to North Myrtle Beach January 2018. She bought a home around great neighbors, and close to everything she needed-including the beach. She calls this THE BEST MOVE OF HER LIFE! She loves that there is ALWAYS something to do here, and she’s never bored! “People move here because they want to slow down, relax, and enjoy life here in the beautiful south-where we don’t have to shovel snow.” Her motto is …”where the ocean breeze puts your mind at ease.”

Charlene started her career as a Realtor a couple of years ago, after 24 years in healthcare. Timing is everything, and the time was right to take that leap of faith and make a change. She loves helping people find their dream home. She is a firm believer that EVERYTHING happens for a reason, and God is in control.
